Contains:

Butaphosphan 100 mg/mL, cyanocobalamin 50 microgram/mL vitamin B12.

The solution contains 17.3 mg of phosphorous in 1mL.

Coforta® 100 Injectable Phosphorus Solution is a Phosphorus source; takes part in energy metabolism, stimulates fatigued smooth and cardiac muscle, supports liver function and positively influences the phosphorus level in blood plasma. Vitamin B12 influences protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism and promotes the formation of red blood cells.

Use for disorders of metabolism due to poor or insufficient feeding, poor management or disease; disorders in development and nutrition of young animals due to disease early in life; prophylaxis of infertility and puerperal diseases; stress and exhaustion of healthy animals and to increase muscle efficiency; anaemia.

Dosage and Administration

Give by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Repeat daily if required. Horses, cattle. 5 to 25 mL. Foals, calves. 5 to 12 mL. Sheep, goats. 2.5 to 5 mL. Lambs. 1.5 to 2.5 mL. Pigs. 2.5 to 10 mL. Suckling pigs. 1 to 2.5 mL. Dogs, cats. 0.5 to 5 mL. Chronic disease. Half the above dose every 1 to 2 weeks or less. Healthy animals. Half the above dose.

Storage: Store below 30 degrees celsius.

Precautions:

1. Sterilise all injection apparatus by boiling before use.  Avoid use of strong disinfectants or apparatus.

2. Maintain cleanliness at all times

3. Keep needles sharp and clean. Replace frequently.

4. Use needles of appropriate gauge and length.  For subcutaneous administration, use the shortest needle possible (not exceeding 15mm)

5. Avoid injection of animals in wet weather, or dusty conditions.

6. Intramuscular injections should be made into muscle tissue on the side of the neck.  Subcutaneous injections should be made under the skin, high on the neck behind the ear.
